Ayurveda is a part of Atharveda which is one among the Chathurvedas. Ayurveda is not man-made, but it is believed to be a divine gift. It has originated in Sanskrit language from time immemorial and is as ancient as universe. Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word that literally means the science of life. It is to study, seek and utilise the benefits of such systematic study to the people at large that the great sages of ancient India has developed this precious knowledge. It is a fact that Ayurveda is a system of medicine which is free from adverse effects, besides being restorative, rejuvenative and constructive in nature, economical and efficacious.
Ayurveda is a holistic medical system of India and the mother of all medical sciences including Allopathy.
Ayurveda differs from other traditional medical practices by looking into the root cause of disease and treating the whole person -body, mind and soul. Ayurveda heals and cures human diseases with the help of Panchakarma (five fold detoxification therapy) and by making desirable changes in individuals life style. In short, Ayurveda is the Veda (knowledge) of Ayur (life), an eternal pursuit for a higher quality of life.

Our Story
Mykeel, the traditional home of Ayurveda is one of the predominant families of north Kerala. The honoured personality late Sri. Mykeel Kunhapu Vaidyar was the founding father and ever burning light of Mykeel. His dynamism and medical ingenuity and deep insight has always helped to steer through all the required formalities in a masterly manner. Besides being well versed in theoretical knowledge, he has achieved great success in compiling the formulations, and in cohesion, stabilizing the same on the strength of practical. He was followed by his son, a veteran ayurvedic physician late Sri Mykeel Krishnan Vaidyar. He developed an indigenous system for the treatment. He has the necessary fervour to sail against the current and in most cases reached the shore successfully. Presently, the precious knowledge of the Mykeel family is with the exceptionally brilliant Mykeel Raveendran Vaidyar ( mass titled as Charakan), grandson of Mykeel Kunhappu Vaidyar. He was trained under the medical expertise of both his father and grandfather. The ancestral hierarchy comes in exact lineages Late (all) Sri. Chandan Vaidyar, Appu Vaidyar, Kunhappu Vaidyar and Krishnan Vaidyar.
